You must be at least 16 years old to use this website. If you are 16 or 17, you may use the site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. The site is not intended for children under 16.

Some sections may describe hands-on filmmaking techniques, including working with lighting equipment, cables, stands, and location setups. You are responsible for ensuring you can safely follow any educational material and for seeking professional supervision if you are unsure. We do not provide safety certification or training.

The service may include written guides, workshop outlines, educational articles, FAQs, and learning resources related to topics such as scene planning, camera fundamentals, sound recording basics, editing workflow, and appreciation of physical media and cult film history. Content is educational and may not be exhaustive, current, or suitable for every production scenario.

We may update, reorganize, add, remove, or change site content and features over time. We do not promise that any specific topic, resource, or workshop format will always be available. If we offer a way to register interest in workshops, a submission does not guarantee availability, scheduling, or acceptance.

CelticBeacon is not a streaming service, a marketplace, or an e-commerce store. Any references to films, labels, or physical media are for educational and commentary purposes. We do not claim endorsement by, or formal affiliation with, third-party brands unless explicitly stated.

If you film in public or use music, logos, footage, or performances, you are responsible for obtaining permissions and licenses where required.

All website content, including text, layouts, design elements, logos, icons, and code (collectively, “Content”), is owned by CelticBeacon or licensed to us, and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Content for your personal, non-commercial educational use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, publish, publicly display, modify, create derivative works from, or exploit the Content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

Any third-party trademarks, film titles, and brand names referenced remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification, commentary, or educational discussion only. No ownership is claimed.

• Scraping, crawling, or harvesting content, contact details, or data from the site without authorization.
• Reverse engineering, probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the site or attempting to bypass access controls.
• Uploading or transmitting malware, malicious scripts, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or limit functionality.
• Impersonation, deceptive identity practices, or misrepresenting affiliation with CelticBeacon.
• Spamming, sending unsolicited marketing, or submitting repeated messages intended to overload our contact processes.

We also do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any educational material, especially where technique outcomes depend on equipment, environment, and operator decisions.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CelticBeacon and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, interruption of business, reputational harm, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the site.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total direct liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the site or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to CelticBeacon in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 EUR, whichever is lower.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. In such cases, liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CelticBeacon and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your misuse of the site; (c) your violation of any law or regulation; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights.

The site may reference third-party resources for educational purposes. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of any third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that third party’s terms and privacy policies.

This Terms page does not grant you any rights to third-party content and does not imply endorsement of any third-party products or services.

Our Privacy page is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the site, you acknowledge that you have reviewed it and understand how data is processed, including how cookie preferences can be managed.

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to the site will be governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Dublin, Ireland for resolving any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply.

Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for a period of at least 30 days. Please provide a description of your concern and any relevant details so we can investigate and respond.

If the dispute is not resolved within the informal period, either party may pursue a claim in the courts specified in the Governing Law section.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users, or acted unlawfully. We may also restrict access to protect the security and integrity of the site.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, Dispute Resolution, and any other provisions intended to remain effective.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will take effect 14 days after they are posted on this page, unless a shorter period is required for legal compliance or security reasons. By continuing to use the site after the effective date of an update, you agree to the revised Terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the site before the changes take effect.
